As I write this on May 17, it looks like summer vacation is going to happen. I'm not going to review the current mandates or restrictions in this post. All we can hope is that by July we can be out and about enjoying hot weather, beautiful lakes, mountain hikes, tranquil trails in the woods, and dining at restaurants. With that in mind, this post will be optimistic and highlight all the best of summer in the Lakes Region and Mount Washington Valley.
For this post I focus on Lake Winnipesaukee. It is the Jewel of the Lakes Region. There are many lakes in this region, but Winnipesaukee is a magnet for visitors and vacationers. I believe the reason is because of the majestic views, boat rides to restaurants and shops, open water for long rides and recreation, seeing the beautiful lakefront homes both huge and small, and getting up close to Loons.
Boating on the lake comes in many forms. From the kayak to a cruise on the MS Mount Washington and everything in between.
